The Big Picture
PID families living in Blanchard, a suburb of Port au Prince, are actively trying to clean up from major flooding caused by the Hurricane Ike. Thankfully, many in the Blanchard area evacuated the area before the storm arrived in anticipation of flooding and there were no deaths in vicinity. Although everyone survived the storm in Blanchard, high flood waters covered the area filling homes, roadways and schools. As the flood waters recede, Blanchard is now covered in mud and many lost all their possessions that they could not carry.
PID set up an Emergency Fund to help families restore normalcy. Please help Hurricane victims by making a donation today!
Impact of Your Donation
The Emergency Fund will be distributed according to need to replace shoes, clothing, school supplies, supplies for business owners, and other household items that were lost to Hurricane Ike. As PID continues to tour the destruction and assess the damage, the Emergency Fund may also be used to provide food and medical care.
